Opportunities in Speech and Debate

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln is currently looking for students who are interested in continuing their Speech & Debate experience in college. The Cornhusker Speech & Debate Team enjoys a long and storied tradition. Forensics has been a part of the university for over a hundred years. During that time thousands of students have participated in the Speech & Debate program. Today, the program continues to grow and welcome students from all over the state and nation.

The Cornhusker Speech & Debate Team is open to all students regardless of previous experience. It is our philosophy that forensics should be open to any student who is interested and willing to work hard. Students have the opportunity to participate in 11 different speech events and two different forms of debate. Being a member of the forensics team means you have the opportunity to travel regionally and nationally to the top college forensics tournament.
