The University of Nebraska–Lincoln (UNL) Debate team placed fifth in the nation in Lincoln-Douglas debate of the National Forensics Association National Tournament, which took place April 16-20 at Tennessee State University.

UNL advanced five students to the elimination rounds. The team was led by seniors Grant McKeever and Loc Nguyen, who both advanced to the Octo final rounds. UNL has now finished in the top five in debate for ten consecutive years, dating back to 2015—the event was cancelled in 2020 due to COVID-19.

More information about the Speech and Debate Team is available on the Department of Communication Studies website.
