DR. JORDAN SOLIZ

Dr. Jordan Soliz (PhD, University of Kansas) is the supervisor of the CI-Lab. Dr. Soliz is a Professor in the Department of Communication Studies. Dr. Soliz is the past editor of the Journal of Family Communication and past Chair of the Intergroup Communication Interest Group of the International Communication Association

GRADUATE STUDENTS

Morgan AprilMorgan is a PhD candidate (MA, Texas Christian University) focusing on the manner in which communication affects and reflects social identity complexity and identity change in family and personal relationships with a current focus on chronic illness identity. Morgan's research has been published in Communication Studies and presented at the National Communication Associaiton annual convention. Morgan teaches courses in Interpersonal Communication, Health Communication, Social Scientific Research Methods in Communication Studies, and Business & Professional Communication. You can reach Morgan at morgan.april@huskers.unl.edu
Megan Cardwell. Megan is a 2nd year PhD student (MA, University of Nebraska-Lincoln) with a research focus on communication and identity for multiethnic-racial individuals and integrating critical race perspectives in identity and family communication scholarship. Megan's research has been published in the Journal of Personal and Social Relationships and Identity: An International Journal of Theory and Research.  Megan teaches courses in Intercultural & Intergroup Communication and Business & Professional Communication. Renca Dunn. Renca is a 1st year PhD student (MA, American University) with research interests in Deaf identity, intersectionality, Cultures, intergroup and interpersonal relationships, and narratives and storytelling. Katie Kassler. Katie is a 1st year PhD student (MA, Texas Christian University) with research interests in interpersonal and family communication, critical approaches to gender and sexual identity, coping and resilience.
