Recent graduate Paula Wilson, an account manager for Tek Systems, says "I feel very fortunate to have received my degree in Communication Studies. I can’t think of a better field of education that suits relationship building within the professional environment and how to adapt in interaction with others in a business setting. I am more equipped to communicate both verbally and nonverbally and the coursework also helped 'hone in' on my existing strengths, allowing me to be a better version of who I was coming into the major. I feel that my professors and peers within UNL’s Communication Studies department did a great job of preparing me for what was to come after graduation. There is not one defined career field for a Communication Studies graduate, but there are infinite possibilities with what you can do once you know how to effectively work with others. I’ve learned that every situation is able to be solved or mediated and it’s rewarding to be a part of that. I put my education to use every single day and know that it will only help me continue to grow successfully in my career."
