Faculty and students seek to contribute to socially and politically conscious understandings of the ways in which communication shapes and is shaped by organizations. We strive to be responsive to the needs of the community by raising and seeking answers to questions of local and global significance; representative of multiple voices—particularly those voices that traditionally have been muted or marginalized; and respectful of human difference in its many manifestations. Specific foci include how various forms of organizing enable and constrain the development of voice, organizing for social change, and workplace dignity.
