Greetings from the Department of Communication Studies!
Our undergraduate program focuses on how we Advocate, Negotiate, and Relate via communication. We have award winning teachers, career and special events for our students, and our Lambda Pi Eta honor society. We are also home to the outstanding Cornhusker Speech and Debate Team, the oldest student activity at the university. The department has an excellent graduate program with emphases in Interpersonal, Family & Health Communication, and Rhetoric & Public Culture. We are active researchers focused around communication and Civic Engagement, Health and Well-being, and Identity and Difference. We are a close-knit and hard-working community and extremely proud of our students, past and present. Nebraska is a great place to earn an excellent Big Ten degree, on a smaller campus, and in a great college town.
